Rural Industrial Nodes in Kitui and Kenya's Eastern counties, run with farmer groups and long-term buyers.
Sunflower Circular Hub
An integrated Rural Industrial Node aggregating smallholder sunflower production, mechanised oil pressing, refining, animal-feed press-cake, soap making, briquette production and revolving farmer finance in Kitui County.
Black Soldier Fly & Poultry Integration Hub
A circular integration hub converting municipal and agricultural organic waste into insect protein for poultry feed, closing the loop with poultry meat, eggs, organic fertiliser and reinvestment into smallholder food production.
Solar Drying of Produce Integration Hub
Low-carbon post-harvest infrastructure that aggregates fresh produce, washes and prepares it, and preserves it through solar-tunnel drying for domestic and export markets — reducing post-harvest losses while creating rural employment.
Rural Training & Skills Centre
A training-to-enterprise platform delivering practical courses in regenerative agriculture, value addition and digital agrienterprise — anchored by hands-on labs and an incubation track linked to HDIC's Rural Industrial Nodes.
Organic Poultry Production & Meat Value Addition
An integrated organic poultry value chain covering hatchery production, chick distribution, farmer rearing, buy-back, meat processing and packaging — linked to premium domestic markets.
Beekeeping & Honey Production
A beekeeping programme mobilising farmer groups, installing modern hives, restoring the surrounding ecosystem through complementary sunflower cultivation, and adding value through processing and packaging.
Water Resources Development Programme
A modular water-infrastructure programme — earth dams, water pans, boreholes and solar-pumped distribution — supporting community water security, irrigated production and livestock resilience across Eastern and ASAL counties.
